If you’re a wannabe popstar or musician surely an amazing, spine tingling voice is the most important recipe for success? Or bucket loads of chrisma and charm?
Not if Bressie has anything to do with it! Because according to the former Blizzards frontman, to get ahead in the music business the most important skill is learning to have a thick skin.
Speaking to TV Now, the TV hunk had admitted that the only way to carve out a successful music career is to not care what other people think and attributes his “massive set of balls” to his success.
“If you want to be a singer you have to pick your own path and just find the right people to help you.
“That’s really the key. And grow a massive set of balls — not literally, because that would be a little weird — but you need them.
“Everyone gets hurt if somebody says something negative. That’s how you deal with it.”
And the competitive judge has been displaying his “massive balls” every Sunday night on The Voice.

Bressie frequently has bust-ups with his fellow judges
Speaking about his fights with fellow judges Kian Egan and Jamelia, the Mullingar man says that being in a room with the same people for 12 hours at a time is bound to get tense from time to time but insists that all the judges do get on and there are no hard feelings once filming wraps.
And even attributes the Irish being funnier as a nation as a reason for his and Jamelia’s bickering!
“Jamelia and I — we are very different.
“I live in London and the English are a totally different breed compared to Irish people.
“Our personalities are different. I think we’re funnier in general. It must have been hard for her to come and try to fit in.”
The Voice is broadcast on RTE every Sunday night at 6.30pm
