It’s beginning to look like Hogwart’s may not be the only school of Witchcraft and Wizardry!
Author J.K. Rowling has surprised and delighted Harry Potter fans this week, dropping some major hints on Twitter about the upcoming HP spinoff.
Rowling is penning the screenplay for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, set to star Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne in the lead role.
Fantastic Beasts is the name of a textbook used in Hogwarts, and the upcoming film series will tell the tale of its author Newt Scamander.
During a Twitter Q&A with fans this week, Rowling teased the possibility of an American version of Hogwarts. Responding to a fan who asked what the name of a U.S. school of wizardry would be, Rowling said the information “will be revealed in due course”, confirming its existence.

Fantastic Beasts is set 70 years before the events of Harry Potter. The first film in the series is set to land in cinemas on November 18th, 2016.
