Chrissy Hart is the mother of a child battling cancer and yesterday, we shared the poignant letter she wrote to J.K. Rowling, thanking her for her books.
The letter is a heartbreaking read and Chrissy said that Rowling’s Harry Potter books provided the ” fortress” she and her child “desperately needed to hide in”.
The author has since responded to Chrissy’s letter, which can be read in full here, with the words: “I think I wanted to write because words were always my safe place. I only wish words could bring her back to you”.
