The New Year’s Day travel hack you need to know about ASAP

Olivia Hayes

It’s been a while since the summer holidays.

For most of us, it’s been a very long time since our summer getaways (OK, it’s only been a few weeks or months but still, it feels like ages ago).

The weather in Ireland is pretty grim right now; cold, wet, windy and lifeless, which is seriously bringing us down.

Another sun holiday would perk us up, right?!

While we all dream of jetting away to sandy beaches while we’re sitting in a bleak office, sometimes our finances just won’t allow us.

However, we have just discovered a brilliant January travel hack so you need to listen up.

Travel expert Ian Crawford, of Holiday Hypermarket, told The Sun that if you’re up for travelling on New Year’s Day or in the days after then you could save some serious cash.

Now, wouldn’t that be nice?

“Christmas is a peak period for the travel industry and even breaks that depart on Christmas Day can be expensive, but if you can wait for a few more days prices drop considerably.

“With this tip, couples can save hundreds per person – often more than £1,000 for two travelling. In fact, you could save up to £1,000 per person if you travel after New Years Eve.”

He mentioned plenty of gorgeously sunny locations in his interview including Tenerife, Gran Canaria Cyprus and Dubai.
