Katie Hopkins Silenced After Petition Sees Her Axed From ITV

Katie Hopkins won’t have that much to chat about today if these latest reports are anything to go by. Hopkins once dubbed, Britain’s most hated woman, has been axed from ITV’s This Morning after causing outrage on Twitter with an ill-timed tweet about Scottish life expectancy. The post came just hours after news of the police helicopter crash broke, that left Glasgow devastated, claiming the lives of nine people and injuring 32 others.   The former Apprentice star offended a mass audience with her tweet, which has since been deleted. An online petition to have Hopkins axed from any further appearances on television has almost 90,000 signatories. In response, ITV released this statement: “We have no plans for Katie Hopkins to appear on This Morning at this present time.” Hopkins later apologised, insisting that her post related to NHS statistics and not to the disaster in Glasgow. “I apologise to those I offended. It was poor timing,” she wrote. Hopkins also commentates on Channel 5's The Wright Stuff. The broadcaster is yet to make a comment on her future with the show.
