Katie Piper has shared an emotive message following news that her acid attacker could be freed from prison next month.

The television presenter was attacked in 2008 when Stefan Sylvestre threw sulphuric acid at her leaving Piper’s face badly scarred.

Sylvestre was sentenced to life in prison, as was Piper’s ex boyfriend, Daniel Lynch, who orchestrated the attack.

The Daily Mail reported today that Sylvestre could be freed from prison next month if he can convince the parole board he is no longer a danger to society.

Following this news, Piper took to Instagram to share a message saying: “God protect me from anything that wasn’t sent by you.”

She captioned the post “Amen.”

The acid attack left Piper blind in one eye and with full thickness burns across her face and chest.

She has undergone 40 surgeries to her face and made several documentaries detailing her life as an acid attack survivor and a sexual assault survivor.

Piper’s ex, Lynch, had raped the presenter two days before he had organised acid to be thrown in her face.

He had also beaten her and stabbed her several times when the pair were staying in a hotel.

Lynch received life in prison with a minimum sentence of 16 years.
