Irish surfers are in for a treat this weekend as forecasters are anticipating huge waves to hit our coast this weekend.
Surfers from as far as Hawaii, France and Spain are expected to be jetting in to enjoy the favourable conditions with waves expected to break at up to 30ft high in Donegal Bay.
Forecasters say huge swells in the Atlantic Ocean combined with southerly winds would create the optimum conditions for surfing.

Waves are expected to reach 30 foot this weekend before climaxing on Tuesday
According to The Irish Times, top Irish Surfer Richie Fitzgerald said: “We could have solid waves of up to 30 ft, which would be the biggest of the winter.
“We have had 50ft waves in the past but 30ft waves would certainly be great and you would have a lot of surfers coming into Ireland to follow them,” he said.
The largest ever wave to date hit Ireland last December and measured an incredible 67ft.
