Korean Radio Station Responds to THAT Rejection Letter

We're not the only ones annoyed by the letter...

Earlier this week the Internet erupted with indignation after one young Irish teacher shared a stinging rejection letter from one institute of education in South Korea.

Katie Mulrennan had applied for a job advertising via a Craigslist posting, only to receive a rather sharp response explaining that she would not be considered for the position due to the “alcoholism nature of your kind”.

Though many people were (rightly) ticked off at the blatant racism and stereotyping at play, many emigrants have spoken out in defence of the Asian country and its more tolerant and open-minded general population.

This except from local English language radio station Busan EFM features the Korean/American host address the story, and she is not one bit happy.

The clip was sent in to our bros at JOE.ie by reader Gary Kenny, who was at pains to point out that after five years of living in Korea “by and large there is no anti-Irish sentiment here from the locals”.

He added: “What has happened in the recently highlighted case is that some Private English Academy has obviously had a bad previous experience with an English Teacher from Ireland”.
