Ladies And Gentlemen It’s 2015 And The World’s First Vagina Bread Has Been Baked

Homegrown ingredients.

Megan Cassidy

This takes homemade to a whole new, terrifying level.

Earlier this week, we brought to you the story of the blogger who endeavoured to bake bread using the yeast from her yeast infection.

Twitter had a mixed reaction – mostly scientific, some positive, plenty of negative, but an overwhelming sense of confusion was evident.

Was this safe? Would it work? Why oh why would one do it?

Well, at least one question has been answered – it worked, and it was “delicious”.

Bread

Zoe Stavri took to her feminist blog, Another Angry Woman, to post the eagerly awaited update.

Alongside a snap of the (admittedly delicious looking) sourdough – she wrote: “What, did you expect it to sprout pubes?”

Sourdough bread

She continued: “Was I worried about tasting it? No. Any pathogens which may have been in the sourdough starter probably couldn’t survive being blasted at 230°C. If they could, then good for them. They deserve to infect me.”

“It tasted like a pretty damn nice sourdough bread. Not the tangiest sourdough I’ve ever eaten, but solidly tasty. I really, really liked it. After having a little bite, I ate a slice with butter. The bread was still slightly warm and the butter soaked in and it was absolutely heavenly.”

We’re happy for her – we are. But we won’t be trying this one at home.
