We’re not sure what we loved most about the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards – the dresses or the insane amount of talent that was honoured at the ceremony last night.
Unsurprisingly, Argo continued its award-winning lucky streak and managed to scoop the top honor for overall cast performance.
The SAG’s lead-acting awards went to Hollywood It-girl of the moment, Jennifer Lawrence for her role as a troubled widow in the romance Silver Linings Playbook and Ireland’s favourite, Daniel Day-Lewis, was also given some major credit for his role as Abraham Lincoln in the Civil War epic Lincoln.
Anne Hathaway won the best supporting actress award for her part in Les Miserablesand Tommy Lee Jones also took home the best supporting actor award for his character in Lincoln.
“I got my SAG card when I was 14. It felt like the beginning of the world. I have loved every single minute of my life as an actor... Thank you for nominating me alongside incredible women and incredible performances,” said Anne Hathaway as she collected her award.
In the TV category, Bryan Cranston took home the best male actor in a drama series for his portrayal of Walter White in Breaking Bad while Claire Danes scooped the best female actor in a drama series for Homeland.

Claire Danes picked up another gong for her Homeland role
Downton Abbey brought home the cast award for best drama and Modern Familywas awarded the cast gong for best comedy.
The night itself was full of entertaining moments, however we feel for poor Jennifer Lawerance who left her sick bed to attend the awards and ended up ripping her dress as she stood up to collect her award. Morto!
