A local radio show helped to reunite a pair of star-crossed lovers this week

Darragh Berry

Definitely a better love story than twilight.

Trying to flirt with someone can be awkward enough at the best of times without thinking that someone has ditched you while going to the bathroom, especially when you thought that it was going so well.

That’s what happened to Sharon when she got stuck in a severely long girls bathroom queue.

She got in contact with Carl James of The Afternoon Show on Midlands 103 in the hope of finding the one that got away.

Sharon was looking for a guy she met in Flannery’s bar in Dublin. The pair had hit it off on a night out recently and formed a connection.

The man was adamant that he’d buy Sharon a drink and although she was on driving duty for the night, she agreed to have one with the nice gentleman and accompanied him up to the bar.

It was a bad time for nature to call Sharon but it did and while he was getting in a couple of drinks, she nipped off to the toilet.

When she came back, much to her upset, he had left the pub.

“I hope he didn’t think that I did a legger, like a runner,” Sharon told the show and added that the thought of it bothered her so much that she had to get in contact to see if she could find him again.

Sharon didn’t know much about her new flame and didn’t even have a name for her Prince Charming but luckily for her, the power of radio came to her rescue.

Frankie, the guy in question, got in touch after hearing Sharon’s plea for help and told the Afternoon Show that he was sure she had legged it because “she was that long gone.”

Host Carl James asked the question that everyone was thinking – would Frankie and Sharon be meeting up for a drink at the weekend?

Thankfully, the answer was yes.

Ah, young love.
