Now this is great news. Forward-thinkers NASA have just recruited eight new astronauts – and four of them are women!
Among the new team is the first female fighter pilot to become an astronaut in nearly 20 years and a female helicopter pilot.
"These new space explorers asked to join NASA because they know we're doing big, bold things here - developing missions to go farther into space than ever before," said NASA Administrator Charles Bolden.
The eight new recruits were chosen from more than 6,000 applications received early last year.
We wish all the new astronauts the best of luck - onwards and upwards.
