Making This Little Change To Your Morning Cuppa Could Add Years To Your Life

We might manage this!

We all know that eating well and taking daily exercise can add years to your life, but it seems that making a change to your tea round can help too. For the day that’s in it, we thought we’d share the info with you. (It’s international tea day in case you were wondering).

Earlier in the year, research linked drinking chamomile tea to lower mortality rates in older Mexican women but observed no difference in the men included in the survey.

According to The Huffington Post, researchers from the University of Texas Medical Branch analysed population data of 1,677 Mexican-American men and women aged 65 and older.

Chamomile tea was consumed by 14 per cent of the population and results revealed that the tea decreased mortality risk by nearly a third in all women, compared to those who did not drink the tea.

While researchers could not decipher the reason for the difference between genders, it is thought that black and green tea can reduce heart problems, contribute to a lower risk of developing cancer and reduce rates of mortality.

Now g’wan there and stick on the kettle.
