Ah now (we’re taking this one with a pinch of salt).
A Saudi Arabian man is thought to have divorced his wife because she wouldn’t stop texting her friends on their wedsding night (and yes I’m aware of how bonkers that sounds).
According to Gulf News, the couple began arguing when the bride kept chatting on her mobile as her husband “tried to get closer with her” on the eve of their wedding.
He asked his new wife to delay answering the messages but a relative said “she refused and became angry” as she was answering congratulatory messages from her nearest and dearest.
The argument escalated and the man in question said he was getting a divorce and left the hotel.
Initially, there was hope that the couple might reconcile but it is believed they have since divorced.
The publication also reports that divorce is on the rise in the country and can affect as much as 50 per cent of people who have just tied the knot.
