A man in Turkey has been photographed wrapping stray animals in blankets to protect them from freezing temperatures.

Huseyin Yurtsevern, a dentist who lives in Istanbul, took to the city’s streets this week to help care for cats and dogs without owners.

He says that he was inspired to help by a video he saw online featuring dogs living on the streets of his city.

Huseyin and a group of volunteers went out with blankets in search of animals in need of help, wrapping them up to protect them from the night-time cold.

He’s also been distributing blankets to other local animal lovers so that they can can help in the mission to keep the city’s strays warm.

He and his gang have also been leaving his contact details with the blankets so that local residents can return them to him should they need to be washed, reports The Daily Mail.
