We've always loved getting scratchcards for the odd special occasion and after reading this story, we might be getting them more often! Joseph Amorese was recovering from hernia surgery when his dad decided to buy him a 'get well soon' card and popped a $25 scratch-off New York Lottery ticket inside. The 46-year-old was in for a shock when he scratched the card, as the one his dad had bought was an instant winner to the tune of $7 million. "I took my glasses off, I’m looking at it, I was pretty shocked to say the least. I had surgery so I didn’t jump up and down, but in my mind I was jumping up and down," he explained. According to the Huffington Post, Amorese then sent a picture of the ticket to his dad, who confirmed the win, before calling his wife of ten months to share the good news. "I said, 'Honey, I think we won $7,000,000. And there was silence on the other end for a long time. She was too stunned to talk." The couple now plan to go on a second honeymoon but have said that the win will not have a huge impact on their daily lives. "I don't expect [my life] to change a whole lot... I'm still going to go to work every day. My wife's gonna go to work."
