We have all been there, Leaving Cert results day can be a very daunting time.

Between receiving your points and trying to plan what you are going to do with the rest of your life, it can all seem very overwhelming. But the truth is (and the part the teachers don’t tell you) the Leaving Cert is not the “be all and end all”. Everyone takes different paths to success in life and sometimes the very thing you thought you didn’t want turns out to be exactly what you needed and you will appreciate it in the long run. I know first hand, and I am so grateful thinking back that things didn’t work out in my favour on results day because I might not be where I am right now.

Another women who knows that the road to success isn’t always straightforward is entrepreneur, owner and founder of Cocoa Brown, Marissa Carter. Marissa Carter spoke exclusively to Her.ie to give you some life advice this results day.

“None of us are immune to the pressure put on us by family, society or ourselves even but one thing I know for sure is that success comes from pursuing a career you’re passionate about. When you’re 35 you’ll still have another 35 working years ahead of you! You have time to explore, time to make mistakes, time to start over, time to travel, time to learn and time to be a success, whatever that means to you!”

Marissa Carter have proved time and time again to be the ultimate girl boss, putting in years of time and dedication into her passion and company. Now, following the ongoing success of Cocoa Brown, Marissa and her team are launching the award winning brand in Russia. This means Cocoa Brown by Marissa Carter will be available in 21 countries with over 15,000 stores.

Speaking on the launch and success the entrepreneur said: “Never ever let anyone tell you to slow down. You grow or you die in business and sometimes ambition makes others feel uncomfortable. Those who love you want you to be realistic so you’re not disappointed when you fail. Those who don’t like you want you to stop moving so fast so they can catch up. Don’t listen to any voice but your own when you’re setting your goals.”

So remember, no matter what today’s outcome, life has a way of working itself out and if you work hard with passion and determination for what you love, it will carry you to wherever you want to go.
