The lifestyle habits of four students in college in Athlone may cause a lot of stomachs to turn this week as they feature on tonight's TV3 show, Doctor in the House.
The four lads, Conor Byrne, Brian Maguire, Padraig Mohan and Paddy Rooney, who are all in their twenties, were given an overhaul by the show’s doctors, after it was found that the students had E. coli lurking inside their microwave – a bacteria that could cause kidney failure or even death.
“At the very severe end of E. coli, there’s a particular strain of E. coli that can cause kidney failure and death and that was growing in your microwave,”explained Doctor Nina Byrnes. “They’re the kind of bacteria you would usually see growing in a toilet."
The doctors also found issues with the lads’ hygiene, diets and sexual health which should lead to interesting viewing this evening.
The lads were then given the challenge of making over their lives in the space of eight weeks. See how they get on tonight when the show airs at 9pm.
