Meet Raymond: Cute Baby Koala Goes Viral After Picture of Him Surfaces Online

It’s not every day you see a koala sitting in a mug, but this little fella has become the internet’s newest star. Ladies allow us to introduce you Raymond the koala.

Poor Raymond has become something of a viral sensation ever since the above picture of him surfaced on the internet, and while he may be a bit of a star now, life hasn’t been easy for the little guy.

A month ago, Raymond was found weak and abandoned on the side of the road in Brisbane. It is believed that his mammy had been hit by a car and abandoned her three-month-old baby because she was too ill to take care of him properly.

Raymond, who is named after the kind-hearted person who took him to safety, was dehydrated and skinny and animal rescuers feared that he wouldn’t be able to survive because he wasn’t feeding properly.

“He had to be coaxed to feed. He was frail and his future was uncertain,” said Julie Zyzniewski, one of the carers looking after the koala.

“Suddenly, one day he decided life wasn’t so bad and he has been absolutely powering along ever since,” she added, speaking to the Daily Mail.

Now Raymond spends his days hanging out with Julie and climbing around her desk. Thankfully Julie’s boss has a fondness for koalas and is more than happy to allow Raymond to recuperate in the office.
