We love this. These days there is so much pressure for women to look a certain way or conform to what's perceived as 'normal'. There are unrealistic expectations placed on women when it comes to their looks and beauty. Photos and images are splashed across websites and magazines of new beauty trends which are forcing women to follow certain looks which are unnatural and unhealthy. Some of these trends include the thigh-gap, ab crack and the belly button challenge. All of these promote a view that women should be striving for a certain body type. In a turn of events, women have joined together to promote a new body-positive version of these trends and it's known as "mermaid thighs". The idea is based around an opposite outlook to the thigh-gap with the whole idea being that your thighs touch. The tagline is, "If your thighs touch, you're one step closer to being a mermaid". Women all over the world have been sharing images of their "mermaid thighs" promoting a healthier outlook on their bodies. This is definitely a beauty trend we can get behind.
