Met Éireann Issues Yellow Weather Warning Ahead Of The Weekend

Met Éireann has issued a yellow weather warning as heavy rainfall is expected in parts of the country today.

According to the forecaster’s website, there is a rainfall warning in place for Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Tipperary, Wexford and Waterford.

This morning heavy thundery downpours are expected across the county with the East, South and West coast bearing the brunt of it. There is a risk of spot flooding as a result of this.

Later this morning and the afternoon will see drier conditions although there will still be heavy showers in the East until this evening. Highest temperatures will be around 17 to 19 degrees.

Tonight will be dry in many places but heavy showers are expected to continue in coastal areas. Temperatures will drop to between 10 and 12 degrees.

Saturday is expected to be a mixture of sunny spells and heavy showers but it will turn cool in evening with temperatures from 8 to 10 degrees. On Sunday, showers will be widespread and heavy in places. These will be broken up with some sunshine and temperatures around 16 to 19 degrees.
