Michael Schumacher is now communicating with his family by fluttering his eyelashes, according to reports yesterday.
It is thought that while the former racing driver remains paralysed, he is able to answer questions from his family by fluttering his eyelashes.
According to The Mirror, doctors at the clinic at which Schumacher is residing, aim to have him sitting upright in an electronic wheelchair soon, which he will be able to control with his mouth.
Last weekend, Michael's wife Corinna penned a tribute to fans stating: “The German Grand Prix gives me the perfect opportunity to cordially thank you all for the good wishes and positive energies you keep sending to Michael. I have to say your sympathies blew us all away.
“It is good to know that together we made it through the hardest time. Now we are facing a phase which will presumably take a long time".
Forty-five-year-old Michael may even be allowed to return home to his wife Corinna and children Gina Marie and Mick in the coming weeks but will continue to need around the clock care.
It has been reported previously that Corinna has transformed part of the Schumacher family home into a medical centre to provide the appropriate care for Michael.
