Missing Woman Found 31 Years After Man Confesses To Her Murder

She was pronounced dead in 1989.

A German girl who was reported missing in 1984 has been found alive and well. 

Petra Pazsitka disappeared three decades ago when she was 24 years old.

A male convict later confessed to her murder, sparking a 31-year murder mystery campaign.

Petra was reported missing when she failed to turn up to her brother’s birthday party, and despite widespread manhunts was never found and was declared dead in 1989.

NBC reports that Petra, has been found living in Dusseldorf under the identity of “Mrs. Schneider”.

The 55-year-old was found when she reported a burglary to police, and later confessed her true identity.

Joachim Grande, of Braunschweig Police, said: “Her brother and mother were in shock and tears when they heard the news.

“During this time, Miss Pazsitka, who vanished on July 26, 1984, appeared to have taken steps to keep herself hidden.

“She did not have a bank account and paid all her bills cash.”

A spokesman for Braunschweig Police said: “As to the motive of her disappearance, she gave no explanation, and expressly said that she continues to want no contact with the public or her family.”

Petra’s living relatives have reportedly requested for a letter to be sent to her.
