Mother Receives Message in Bottle From Daughter Two Years After Her Death

Mimi Fery, a New York mother who lost her daughter just two years ago in a tragic accident, was miraculously given a message in a bottle that her daughter had written.

Sidonie, then 10, threw a bottle into the Atlantic with her number on a piece of paper and a quote from her film Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure: “Be excellent to yourself, dude.”

Fery received the note after workers in Patchogue New York discovered the green glass ginger ale bottle while cleaning up after Superstorm Sandy , according to People.

Brian Waldron contacted Sidonie’s mother to let her know that they had found the glass bottle.

"We opened it and it had a phone number inside, so I called the number and left a message," Waldron said. Later that same day, Sidonie's tearful mom called back. 

"I told her I felt like her daughter was looking down from heaven and wanted me to give her a call," said Waldron.

"I was just sobbing when I heard they had found it," Fery said. "These are very, very kind people."

Sidonie died in a tragic accident when she fell from a cliff while attending a boarding school in Switzerland.
