She took to Twitter to slam the retailer.
Unfortunately, we live in a world where people are so ignorant that mothers who are breastfeeding are shamed regularly.
Women sitting in public feeding their children offend many people and it’s hard to fathom why.
Earlier this year we saw one woman’s excellent response when she was asked to stop breastfeeding but if you’re a woman shopping or in an enclosed space, I imagine it’s very hard to breastfeed without prying eyes.
According to METRO, mother Zoe Frangou took to Twitter to complain about the Mothercare in Bluewater, Kent in the UK who told her to refrain from breastfeeding in the store.
Reportedly, the 29-year-old mum even went to a quiet corner of the shop but a staff member followed her to tell her she wasn’t allowed.
Zoe complained on the Mothercare Facebook page which the company reportedly deleted, so Zoe took to Twitter to call them out for their bad practices instore.

A spokesperson for Mothercare clarified their stance on breastfeeding
“We provide all our stores with our breastfeeding policy which clearly states our full support for all nursing mothers.
“Our customers are welcome to nurse their children anywhere on the premises and for those who prefer some privacy, we provide comfortable feeding facilities.
“We are fully investigating this incident and will be making sure that all our store teams are aware of our breastfeeding policy and guidelines for supporting our customers.”
Pro tip: If you’re going to open a store for mothers, maybe don’t shame mamas trying to breastfeed?
