Cavan have been booted out of poll position as the country’s most ‘value conscious’ county, thanks to a new survey this week.
Instead, it is capital city and county Dublin who has taken pride of place at the top of the survey which was carried by Proctor and Gamble on 1,000 adults in Ireland (the results of which were published in this morning's Irish Examiner).
In terms of value consciousness, or penny-pinching as many might call it, Dublin topped the poll with 28% of the vote. Cavan still held on to a top position, coming in at second, followed by Cork, Kerry and Donegal.

The survey also studied many different aspects of home life, with a massive 57% of women stating that they would prefer a clean house over a romantic night in with their partner (compared to just 35% of men).
Meal times were revealed to be the most precious family moment coming in with 48% of the vote, followed by family holidays (33%), playtime (13%) and bedtime stories (3%).
The new research was revealed by Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin as P&G Ireland launched their P&G Effect campaign.
