If you’re one of those people who’s afraid of clowns, you should probably look away. If not, you’re going to become one of those people soon. Sorry.
Remember that clown in Northampton who just stood around on the side of the street, near marble figures and in the middle of random lakes? He has a fan in Staten Island.
They’re calling him the Staten Island Clown (because he’s in Staten Island and he’s a clown- they were trying to be accurate, not creative) and he could be a lot creepier because he appears out of nowhere and just stays there- not doing any tricks, not saying anything, just smiling.
The sightings are a lot fewer than our friend from the little English town, but they’re enough to creep everybody out.
Look at him just standing there, waving:

Chasing people in the dark:
Just showing up at parking lots when you least expect him:
Being generally creepy:
Among all the “I’m so creeped out” and “Can’t sleep” tweets, lies this jewel
The Staten Island Clown is Staten Island. Its all a metaphor.
