Student living just doesn’t seem to be getting any easier and according to studies carried out by Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) it is definitely not getting any cheaper.
The Cost of Living Guide which DIT Campus Life office compile annually, show that students will be faced with higher living expenses for the forthcoming academic year. Students living away from home will see the average cost increase from €7,803 to €7902 and for those living at home, €4,095 to €4,176.
Rental costs in Dublin have risen by 4.5% in the last year, averaging at €348 per month, however figures vary from €300 for a shared room to just under €1,000 for a one bed apartment. The national average of student rent is €289 per month.
