Noma Dumezweni to Play Hermoine in Stage Version of Harry Potter

Acclaimed stage performer Noma Dumezweni has been confirmed for the role of Hermione Granger in the upcoming stage adaptation of Harry Potter. Noma Dumezweni is currently playing the title role in Linda at the Royal Court Theatre. Film credits include Film credits include The Incident, Dirty Pretty Things and Macbeth. Television credits include Casualty, Capital, Frankie, Dr Who, Summerhill, EastEnders and Fallout.

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, a new play by Jack Thorne will receive its world premiere in London’s West End at the Palace Theatre in the summer of 2016. The play will be performed in two parts. The story centers around the Harry as an overworked and stretched adult, working in The Ministry of Magic. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted.
