Now THAT’s How You Do Politics: US Town Elects 4-Year-Old As Mayor

Politics, it’s a tricky business and it can be super-stressful trying to decide just who is capable of representing the people. For the residents of Dorset, Minnesota though it’s an absolute breeze – mainly because they just draw names out of a hat.

Orange reports that the US town of Dorset in the state of Minnesota has just elected the youngest president ever. Mayor Bobbie is just four-years-old and he didn’t win his new title by coming up with some ingenious ways to make life easier for the community – he won it by getting his name picked out of a hat.

Bobbie takes his post as Mayor very seriously

Every single year, the residents of Dorset pick a name out of a hat and that lucky person become the Mayor of Dorset for the next 12 months.

Mayor Bobbie reportedly loves to play, dance, sing and talk to the members of his community. However he also likes to have naps, eat cookies and sneak off to the lake to go fishing with his dad. Oh and he also has a girlfriend called Sophia.

Hmm... call us crazy but maybe we should be taking a leaf out of Dorset’s book here. Their Mayor seems to be doing a great job. Maybe this is how we should start picking the Taoiseach from now on? Just a thought...
