What’s the best thing about working for Google Maps? Probably the fact that you can have some cheeky fun. Staff at Google Maps got up to some divilment recently when they renamed a portion of Manchester’s Temperance Street as ‘Hand Job Alley.’
Digital Spy reports that staff decided to rename the alley after a Street View picture surfaced of a couple engaged in a naughty sex act at the given location. If you’re a little senstive you might not want to look at this snap:

Caught in the act: this couple were snapped by a Google Street View van
Google immediately removed the raunchy image and said: “We’ve put in place simple tools so that if people see what they believe to be inappropriate, they can flag the image to us and it will be quickly removed.”
“We apologise for any inadvertent embarrassment this may have caused,” the company added.

Over the past few years, Google maps has accidentally caught many rude moments on camera
However, the people in charge of actually labelling the maps have decided to have a little giggle about the incident.
The map featuring the newly named ‘Hand Job Alley’ can still be seen by Google Maps users who search the postcode ‘M12 6HR’ and zoom in.
There’s always one person who likes to make light of an otherwise awkward situation, isn’t there? Either way, this definitely gave us a laugh in the Her.ie office. We wonder how long it’ll take before a supervisor cops what these bold employees have done?
