The Dublin Book Festival has announced the programme for the 2013 Festival.
This year’s festival will run from 14 – 17 November in and around Smock Alley Theatre, Temple Bar as well as satellite venues around the city including, The Gutter Bookshop, The Irish Writers’ Centre, Fighting Words, Medley, National Library of Ireland and Dublin City Public Libraries.
The vast majority of the events are free, making for a fun, affordable day out for everyone. It is Dublin’s largest book festival and celebrates Irish published authors and Irish publishing, across the whole range of genres, from comedy and literary fiction, business, cookery and travel, to poetry and Irish language events - all to be found at www.dublinbookfestival.com
“The Dublin Book Festival is about celebrating Irish publishing and its authors. We are passionate about nurturing and supporting new and emerging authors, as well as bringing household names to our audience. What makes us different from other festivals is the fact that the majority of our events are free and our programme features all Irish published authors. It is a fun and casual festival and we hope people drop by over the course of the four days.” Julianne Mooney, Programme Director
The festival will have a bookshop, photography exhibition, reading area and a variety of events for adults throughout the festival. Families are also welcome, with a children’s area open over the weekend, where children are invited to try their hand at writing their own story, take part in comic book and book binding workshops, a treasure hunt around Temple Bar, listen to storytelling or simply curl up and read a book.
