Just one click can mean absolute chaos...
And this guy found out the hard way.
The New York University sent around an email to its 40,000 students on Monday night informing students about its new electronic tuition form.
Sophomore Max Wiseltier needed his mammy’s advice on the seemingly grown-up issue and so decided to forward the email to his mum.
“Do you want me to do this?” was his exact response. Not even a kiss or a love for his mum!
It’s probably just as well as, instead of pressing the ‘Forward’ button to send it on to his mother’s email address, Wiseltier accidentally clicked ‘Reply To All’ and the email promptly sent to 39,979 students on the mailing list.
The second year student quickly realised his mistake and replied to everyone again writing, “SORRY!!! Gmail switched my reply to reply all!”.
We know it didn’t Max, it was human error but fair play to the kid for apologising, he probably thought people would appreciate it.
But he was wrong, it was too late. Cue: a ‘Replyallcalypse’ among nearly 40,000 students began.
And we know what college students are like, one typical characteristic is that they believe themselves to be funnier and more knowledgeable than everyone else.
As the 40,000 inboxes bleeped and blinged on campus and beyond, here are just some of the replies frustrated students received:
One witty student decided to share a photo of his idol...

Some people used the chance to ask a practical question...

Some to sort their night-in out...

Understandably, others began to get a bit pee-ed off at the whole situation...

One took a mature approach to their reply...

PS. Turns out the Max kid…. is studying Computer Science.
