We all have special ladies in our lives who deserve to be celebrated.
Maybe you don’t see them every day but they are always at the end of the phone when you need to talk, and somehow they always seems to know the right thing to say, no matter what the situation.
These women deserve a treat and together with Littlewoods Ireland, we would like to make sure they look after themselves instead of worrying about others for once.
This week, the winner of a €100 Littlewoods Ireland voucher is Niamh McCarthy.
Niamh was nominated by her sister-in-law Helen who tells us, in her own words, why Niamh deserves to be our woman of the week.
“I would like to nominate my sister-in-law Niamh McCarthy as your Woman of the Week but I don’t like using the term “in-law” as I see her like my own sister.
“I met Niamh when she started going out with my brother Paul 15 years ago. One thing everybody knows about her is that no matter what, she’ll put everybody before herself and her own needs always come last.
“She’ll devote all of her time to anybody in need and is always running here, there and everywhere for people. She does all of this whilst looking after my twin nieces and nephew James.
“Earlier this year Niamh sadly lost her mother to a long battle with COPD. She was by her bedside every day, only leaving to make sure her children were being looked after.

“As the oldest of her three siblings, Niamh was there for them every step of the way. This wasn’t the end of grief for her as last week her much loved grandfather died. She was his crutch and his best friend looking after him every day.
“The special thing about Niamh is she never looks for thanks as giving comes so naturally for her.She’s had an awful year so far and I’d like to take her out for an evening away from her children (and husband!).
“A voucher for Littlewoods would be a perfect treat as she could use it to get all dolled up”.
