Our Woman Of The Week Is Rebeccah Byrne, Winner Of A €100 Littlewoods Ireland Voucher

Our woman of the week is Rebeccah Byrne.

Cathy Donohue

We all have a special woman in our lives: it might be your mother, sister, aunt, cousin or a friend.

Chances are you don’t see them every day but they are always at the end of the phone when you need them, and this person always seems to know the right thing to say, no matter what the situation.

This week, our real woman is Rebeccah Byrne.

Rebeccah was nominated by her friend Kate who tells us below why Rebeccah deserves to win.

“I’d like to nominate Rebeccah Byrne from Co. Wexford. Bex works with people with disabilities and is loved by all who know her”.

“Due to a health problem she never expected to have a child and was over the moon when, with wedding plans in place, she and Liam discovered that she was pregnant”.

“Molly is the most beautiful little girl and they are a lovely little family.  A couple of years ago Rebeccah discovered that she had leukaemia and underwent chemotherapy treatment in St. James’ Hospital, miles from her husband, child, family and friends”.

“Thank God, all was well and she returned to those who love her”.

“Going for her usual check-up after being in remission for 2 years, I can’t imagine how her world must have fallen apart to discover that the leukaemia was back”.

“She’s back in James’ again undergoing chemo.  If this doesn’t work, she will need a bone marrow transplant and that doesn’t guarantee her recovery. All our thoughts and prayers are with her”.

“It’s just not right that this could happen to such a lovely, selfless young woman”.

We hope Rebeccah enjoys her €100 Littlewoods Ireland voucher, and if you have someone in mind for our Woman Of The Week please get in touch.

Readers should submit their entries to [email protected] along with an image of their nominated woman.

It might be your sister who is working full-time while juggling childcare, or a neighbour who cares for their elderly parents.

It could be your Mam who is always there with encouraging words or a friend who can make you see the funny side when all you want to do is cry.

Whoever it is, we want to hear from you.
