In the latest tribute to #Pantigate, the news aggregation and analysis platform NewsWhip have taken a look at how social media changed and shaped the news story of Rory O’ Neill a.k.a. Panti Bliss.
Back in January,
following an RTÉ controversy with the Iona institute, Panti gave this inspiring
Abbey Theatre speech calling out homophobia and oppression in society.
The speech, which went viral, has since been translated into various languages and the Irish drag queen has received support from Stephen Fry, Graham Norton and Alan Cummings.
