People think this rare dog is actually a statue after these pictures were posted online

The dog is a rare breed, and people online can't actually believe its real, due to the shiny quality to its fur, but rest assured it is a real dog

It’s not everyday you see a dog that looks like a statue.

In fact, this is the first time I have ever come across an animal that resembled a sculpture cast in bronze. On first glance, this dog does absolutely look like a statue, it’s quite astonishing.

But upon further inspection of the Instagram account that its owner runs for their dogs, I can assure you that it is in fact a living, sentient hound.

The dog first caught the internet’s attention when its owner, Sandra Pineda, from Quezon City in the Philippines, shared a photo of her beloved pet, Piper, online. Normal behaviour for a dog owner. That picture received 10,000 likes in one hour, apparently, with countless comments asking if it was in fact a real animal.

Piper is in fact a Mexican Hairless Dog, or if you prefer its proper name, a Xoloitzcuintli. Sandra bought Piper last March, when she was only two-months-old.
