Hyperrealism is a genre of art that both puzzles and astounds us, as it is often particularly difficult to determine whether a piece of work is a photograph or painting.
We've often heard the saying that in order to master a skill it takes 10,000 hours of practice. Artist Christiane Vleugels puts her ability to paint phenomenal oil studies resembling high-resolution photographs down to her many years spent copying the paintings of the greats.
Christiane began drawing at an early age, and after experimenting with many genres and techniques, has now settled on creating
hyper-realistic oil paintings.
The Belgian woman studied her craft in the Academy of Fine Arts and learned drawing and sculpting at SISA and the Royal Academy of Antwerp.

Here are just a few of the Christiane's hyper-realistic oil paintings... prepare to be amazed.
