It’s hard to imagine a world without Google.
We wouldn’t know what a gentleman dog looks like, or that cats are terrified of cucumbers.
It’s hard to believe that it’s only been around since the 1990s, (although we do think encarta is underrated and we are championing its comeback.)
Our bros at JOE did some digging and found an image of what the very first Google homepage looked like back in 1996, when founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin first rolled the search engine out.
It’s basic.
Ah, bless. We can literally hear the sound of the dial up internet and our Mam shouting that she wants to use the landline.
They must have realised they were on to something and got their sh*t together pretty quickly, because by 1996 it had a lot more swag.
Then in 1999 they lost the exclamation mark (too much drama) and the rest, is Google history.
