PIC: Couple Share Inspiring Viral Maternity Snap

A couple who shared a comparison maternity profile snap on Instagram has seen the image explode since it was first uploaded two months ago. Melanie and Vanessa Iris Roy decided to share their side-by-side bumps in a sweet snap, with each image originally having been captured one year apart. The Roys told The Huffington Post how they took the first snap in January 2014 when Vanessa Iris was pregnant with their son Jax and the second a year later when Melanie was pregnant with their daughter Ero. The image, which the pair originally uploaded in hopes of encouraging other lesbian couples, has now gone viral – after being shared across Tumblr, Imgur, and featuring on a Brazilian LGBT advocacy group’s Facebook page. Speaking about the popularity of the image, Melanie said: “It’s crazy to see that people were referring to my family as an inspiration. We are still in complete shock. "Vanessa and I have always said we would both like to carry… We hope that our picture is that sign that some women may need to encourage them to carry a child.”
