PIC: Dad Posts Creepy Newspaper Ad Looking For Someone To Marry His “Virgin” Daughter

This is likely to make you feel a little ill.

Can you not?

We thought our mammys’ meddling was bad, but this takes parental over-involvement to a whole new level.

Evangelical Christian magazine Christianity Today would probably not be our first port of call when hunting for a date, but one Dad took it upon himself to do a little matchmaking in the jobs (!) section.

Hunting for a spouse for his “26-year-old virgin” daughter, the man wrote:

“Her: godly, gorgeous, athletic, educated, careered, humorous, travelled, bilingual, 26-year-old virgin.

“You: unworthy, though becoming less so daily.”

Blogger Rachel Stewart, who is the subject of the… advertisement… confirmed in a post that she is the virgin in question.

She revealed that she called her Dad after learning about the ad but that instead of apologising, he defended his actions.

She added that she is not embarrassed or angry, but that “it’s appropriate they placed it in the Employment Opportunities section, because putting up with this father-in-law’s shenanigans is a full-time job, without any paid vacation.”

Meanwhile, the publication itself has said that although they agree the ad is “rightly seen as demeaning and in poor taste”, it is obviously far too late for them to pull it.
