Pic Of The Day: We Saw The Crescent, He Saw The Whole Of The Moon

A beautiful image from Galway.

Being an early riser can have its advantages. When Galway based photographer, Gavin Kelly, pulled back his bed covers at 5am this morning he didn’t know just how just how grateful he’d be until he captured this next shot.

Over the weekend, folk in certain parts of the country caught a glimpse of the International Space Station visible overhead and this morning, stargazers were in for yet another treat, as the moon was looking spectacular.

People located in North and South America may have been able to see a total lunar eclipse, but this image of the moon taken at Blackrock on the Salthill prom, is good enough for us.

Gavin’s beautiful image has us singing along to this classic from The Waterboy’s.

All together now, “I saw the crescent, you saw the whole of moon”.

Thanks to Gavin Kelly for sending this one onto our brothers over at JOE.ie.
