When Jenna and Dan Haley learned their baby boy would be born with a rare brain condition that would end his life prematurely, they decided to take action.
Baby Shane was diagnosed with anencephaly – a rare condition where the baby’s brain and skull are not fully developed – so parents Jenna and Dan decided to make the most of Shane’s time.
The couple wanted to spend as much time with their baby while Jenna carried him to term, creating a bucket list of activities to keep them and bump occupied.
The family captured all their bucket list moments in pictures, and today, when they announced baby Shane had passed away they posted a message of love and strength to a dedicated Facebook page:
"After meeting his entire family and being baptized into the Catholic faith, baby Shane died peacefully in his Mother's arms.
"Shane spent his entire life in the arms of people that loved him unconditionally and I don't think you could ask for a more beautiful life then that."
This is a beautiful and heartbreaking tribute to a short but loved life.
