PICS – Dublin Fire Brigade’s Tweet About The Damage Embers Can Cause

The pictures are shocking

The windy and stormy weather we are experiencing can really ruin your day, and sometimes it results in some pretty dangerous situations.

As well as bad weather causing flooding, structural damage and making travel harder, it can also increase the risk of dangerous fires.

Dublin City Fire Brigade tweeted these images of a blaze in Stepaside, Dublin today and they are pretty shocking.

Apparently, the fire was caused by hot embers from a normal domestic fireplace that had been left outside, and the stormy weather the country experienced caused the embers, and a fire shortly afterwards, to spread.

Their advice is to never presume embers are cold until they have been left to completely go out before disposing of them outside.
