PICTURE – Cutlery Engraved With O’Sullivan Name Shown On Rose Of Tralee… 24 Hours Before The Winner Was Announced

Haley O' Sullivan, the Rose of Tralee, took the coveted title on Tuesday night in front of hundreds of thousands of viewers.

However, there was something else the eagle-eyed TV audience spotted that was more than a little strange.

For the winner of the Escort of the Year, one of the prizes was some beautiful Newbridge cutlery that would have a name engraved on it, which was displayed on Monday evening. However, Newbridge seemed to have engraved a name that would be fairly signicant 24 hours later when the winner would be announced, none other than O'Sullivan.

Newbridge have stated that the entire affair is just a coincidence and that the prize wasn't actually for the Rose herself, but for her Escort.
