They say a picture speaks a thousand words… what does your favourite portrait say about you?
National Portrait Week runs from March 28th to April 6th 2015. During this time, making a donation of €25 for LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice, will raise much needed funds – as well as giving you the chance to capture your loved one in a picture perfect moment.
Organised by the Irish Professional Photographers Association (IPPA) and sponsored by Canon Ireland, National Portrait Week takes place nationwide, with talented photographers the length and breadth of the country offering their services up for an amazing cause.
To take part all you need to do is purchase your €25 euro voucher from LauraLynn or make an appointment with a participating photographer in your area. For your €25 donation to LauraLynn you will receive an individual mini portrait session with an IPPA photographer and a desktop print (7x5in).
All money raised goes directly to LauraLynn.
For those not already familiar with the amazing work of LauraLynn, the hospice provides care for children with life-limiting conditions and their families by providing home support, respite, crisis and end-of-life care.
Tragically, there are over 3,800 children living in Ireland with life-limiting conditions and 350 of these children pass away each year, most within their first year of life.
With NO direct government funding for LauraLynn hospice services, LauraLynn relies entirely on the generosity of fundraisers such as National Portrait Week to keep their doors open. They need to raise €2.9M annually to continue providing these services with additional funding needed to roll out the LauraLynn@HOME programme nationwide, providing nursing care for very sick children in the comfort of their own home.
