It will be the first issue out since its founder, Hugh Hefner, died.

It is also the first issue to feature a transgender playmate.

The latest Playboy is being hailed for having Ines Rau, a transgender model, grace its covers.

In the past number of years, she has become a very successful fashion model, walking the runway for numerous designers and featuring in many campaigns.

However, this isn’t the first time Ines has been featured in a major magazine.

The French beauty has also been in Vogue Italia, as well as fronting a campaign for Balmain.

In Playboy, Ines will be in a full pictorial for the magazine, and feature in the iconic centrefold.

Speaking to the publication, she told them how she was first afraid to identify as transgender at first, and “then I was like, you know, you should just be who you are,” she said.

“It’s a salvation to speak the truth about yourself, whether it’s your gender, sexuality, whatever.

“The people who reject you aren’t worth it. It’s not about being loved by others; it’s about loving yourself.”

Ines appeared in Playboy in May 2014 in a special A-Z edition, which championed a more progressive understanding of gender as non-binary, however this is her first time as an official playmate.
