Pregnant Woman Sparks Outrage After Posting Weightlifting Image To Facebook

Lea-Ann Ellison was eight and a half months pregnant when she decided to post this image to Facebook.

The Mum, who is heavily pregnant with her third child, is photographed squatting while lifting weights as she carried out her regular CrossFit routine.

The 35-year-old’s picture was then posted to the CrossFit Facebook page along with the caption:

"8 months pregnant with baby number 3 and CrossFit has been my sanity. I have been CrossFitting for 2 1/2 years and ... strongly believe that pregnancy is not an illness, but a time to relish in your body's capabilities to kick ass."

Ellison was not prepared for the controversy weightlifting with a bump would cause. Shocked Facebook users commented underneath to document their concerns for the safety of Ellison’s unborn baby. 

Lea-Ann did not let the negative comments hold her back, and responded on her own personal Facebook account with this message:

"Thank you to all who posted and continue to post positive, supportive comments regarding my photo.... I had NO IDEA what a stir this would create.... It makes me feel proud and loved and STRONGER!!!!"

Lea-Ann posted a second image to her Facebook account on Tuesday, exposing much more of her bump.
