We’re getting the whole gang together.
Okay, we’re saying it – going to the races is one of our absolute favourite days out. There’s excitement, yummy food to eat, the chance to win a little bit of dosh, and (best of all) the chance to dress up fancy af.
We love it.
What’s even better though, is when those racing festivals get underway. Everything gets better – clothes get fancier, betting chances get higher, even the food seems to taste yummier. Plus, there’s always heaps of events to make the day even more enjoyable.
So, naturally, we’re getting pretty excited for the Punchestown Festival, which is back at the end of April. Tuesday, April 30, to Saturday, May 4, to be precise. (We can’t wait!)
They have so much on that there’s no doubt we’ll be knackered by the end of it all (but it’s so worth it!). There will, of course, be top notch horse racing throughout the day, some fab live music, plenty of bars if you’re feeling thirsty (including their very chic new Bollinger Lounge and the famous Sky Bar with its clear glass ceiling), and loads of scrumptious eateries.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the sheer excitement of the day, you can also calm yourself with a bit of retail therapy because the Festival Shopping Village will have over 30 exhibitors showcasing Irish and UK brands (hurrah!). There will be clothes, art, sculpture, lifestyle products, and plenty more to keep us browsing.
Speaking of clothes – make sure to dust off your best dress and head piece and make your way to the Bollinger Lounge in the Style Quarter on the first four days of the Festival, as several style scouts will be keeping their eyes peeled for the 2019 Bollinger Best Dressed Lady (pick us!). There will be one best-dressed winner each day who will then progress to the Ladies’ Day Grand Final (on Friday, May 3). And trust us, ladies, you want this prize.
The lucky lady who is awarded the coveted Bollinger Best Dressed Lady title will enjoy a money-can’t-buy trip to the Bollinger Estate and Champagne Libraries in France with a guest of their choice. The trip includes an overnight stay in the beautiful historic town of Reims (also known as the capital of the Champagne region), Michelin dining, and a luxury overnight stay in Paris (dreamy). Of course, a private chauffeur, champagne lunch experience and a year’s supply of Bollinger Champagne are also included! (What more could you ask for really?) However, that is still not all – the lucky lady and her guest will ALSO attend an exclusive invitational screening of the highly anticipated 25th James Bond movie in Paris in April 2020 (classy).
Even if you don’t win, the Punchestown Festival will be an amazing few days (not that we aren’t planning on trying VERY hard to win). And who knows? Even if you don’t get the big prize, you might win a few bob on your favourite horse.
