If you have a dog of your own, then chances are you’ll know just how much love they’re capable of giving. This story is a prime example of a dog’s loyalty only it’s not to his owner – it’s to his girlfriend (d’aww!).
The Huffington Post reports that a rescue dog named Ben walked 10 miles through snow and ice in order to find the love of his life – another rescue dog named Jade.
According to reports, both Ben and Jade were initially stray dogs living together in Indiana in the States before they were rescued.
When Jade became pregnant with Ben’s puppies last summer, kind employees at the Terre Haute Humane Shelter rescued the two dogs and brought them to the shelter so Jade could be looked after during her pregnancy.
“They were a bonded pair,” said Charles Brown, the manager of the animal shelter.

Ben and Jade now live together with the Lawler family
Ben and Jade were absolutely inseparable during the few months they spent at the shelter and shared the same dog house. However, they were later separated when Ben was adopted by the Lawler family.
“We had him for about three weeks, and we thought he was okay, but he got loose on us,” said Courtney Lawler, speaking about Ben’s epic journey.
After 24 hours of running through incredibly cold weather, Ben found his way back to Jade who was still at the animal shelter.
“He came out of owhere and started licking her through the fence, like they were kissing,” said Ms Lawler.
When the Lawler family realised that Ben would keep returning to Jade, they decided to adopt her too and brought both dogs home with them.
“Ben and Jade want to be together,” said Debbie Floyd, the presiden of the Human Society in America.
“There hasn’t been a lot of human love in their lives. They found love with each other and that’s what makes them happy... Hopefully, they will lives their lives happily ever after,” she added.
If this story doesn’t put a smile onto your face on this chilly Monday morning, we don’t know what will.
